A real estate pest inspection, often called a wood-destroying insect (WDI) inspection, is designed to identify evidence of termites and other wood-destroying insects, along with conditions that may contribute to infestation. Many lenders and loan programs rely on standardized reporting for these inspections, including the NPMA-33 form used for certain HUD/VA-related transactions.
